How To Attract Customers With Your Signs

When you invest in a sign, you want to make sure that you invest in a sign that helps bring customers in and attracts people with its eye-catching design. Here are some tips on designing such a commercial sign.

#1 Use Compelling Colors

Colors can really make or break a sign. You want to use compelling colors that will attract your customers and draw them in. You don't want to use bland, primary colors, such as primary red or blue. You want to use custom colors. There are hundreds of thousands of different shades and color tones; just think about using the color wheel on your Word document; there are so many possibilities!

Choose a unique color that matches with your brand image. For example, if you run a youthful brand that is going for a fun look and bright energy, go with a shade of yellow. If you want to convey authority, consider a shade of blue. The color tone you use should convey the types of feelings and emotions you want to be associated with your brand.

#2 Make Sure to Use Contrasting Colors

You don't want to just use compelling colors; you want to use contrasting colors. Orange words on a red background, for example, would be hard to read. Orange words on a blue background, on the other hand, would be easy to read.

You want the background and the main letters in your sign to be colors that are either contrasting or complementary. You also want the message on your sign to stand out the most. Your message should not blend in with the background of your sign or the background of your business. Play with your color combination so you have something that is both unique and that pops out.

#3 Make the Letters Big Enough to Read

Finally, always check the size of the letters. Consider how far away people will be when they read your sign. Is this a sign people will read as they walk by? Is this a sign you want someone to read as they drive by on the freeway? The size of the letters needs to increase with the distance you want the sign to be readable at. A sign company should be able to help you accurately pick the right size font for your storefront.

When you design a sign, the key is to make sure you use compelling and contrasting colors and to use a font size that is readable for the specific environment where you want to hang up the sign.
